AB HBCU Scholars Program USA 2023. AllianceBernstein has established the AB HBCU Scholars Program to assist students who plan to continue their education in college at historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs).
This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Eligibility
Applicants to the AB HBCU Scholars Program must meet all of the following criteria:
- Self-identify as Black or African American, Hispanic/Latino, or American Indian or Alaska Native
- Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)
- Be a current undergraduate sophomore (graduating in 2025) planning to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year HBCU in the U.S. for the entire upcoming academic year
- Be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields:
- Accounting
- Business Administration
- Computer Science
- Cybersecurity
- Economics
- Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Mechanical)
- Finance
- Liberal Arts (i.e. but not limited to Psychology, History, Philosophy, Arts & Humanities, etc.)
- Management
- Marketing
- Math
- Supply Chain
- Continue to be enrolled full-time for the entire upcoming academic year at an eligible HBCU and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an eligible field
- Be eligible to work in the US and not require sponsorship now or in the future

*A relative is defined as anyone related to an employee or an employee’s spouse, including but not limited to spouse, same-sex and opposite sex domestic partner, parent, child, grandparent, grandchild, sibling, aunt, uncle, cousin, nephew and niece, or corresponding in-law or “step”relation.
Awards
Selection of Recipients
Scholarship America will select finalists on the basis of:
- academic record
- demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
- work experience
- a statement of educational and career goals and objectives
From the pool of qualified finalists, AllianceBernstein will conduct interviews and select recipients.
All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Recipients must agree to accept:
- a 9-week paid internship with AllianceBernstein in the summer of 2023
- participate in 75% of pre-internship development activities
- meet with an AllianceBernstein mentor at least 3 times
Notification
- All applicants will be notified in early March of their status as a finalist or non-finalist. AB HBCU Scholars Program USA 2023
Awards
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive:
- A $5,000 award upon successful completion of the internship.
- Paid housing throughout the summer internship.
- Up to twenty (20) awards will be granted.
- Awards are for undergraduate study only.
- Awards may be renewed for up to one additional year or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first.
- Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in full-time study at an eligible HBCU while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an eligible field. AB HBCU Scholars Program USA 2023
- The recipient must also earn an offer, accept and complete a second internship with AllianceBernstein during the summer of 2024 in order to renew. AB HBCU Scholars Program USA 2023
Payment of Scholarships
- Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of AllianceBernstein.

Required Materials
As part of your application, you must upload the following:
- A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken. AB HBCU Scholars Program USA 2023
