Award Amount: $3,500
The Operation Second Chance Scholarship is available to high school seniors and full – time undergraduate students. To be eligible, you must be the unmarried dependent child of a disabled or honorably discharged veteran, active duty, Title 10 Reservist on extended active duty, Title 32 Guard performing full – time active duty, retired, retired Reserve or deceased military member; or be the spouse of a disabled or honorably discharged veteran, active duty or Title 10 Reservist, or widow / widower. The Jolly Green Merit Scholarship is available to the children and grandchildren of United States Air Force Air Rescue personnel. Selection is based on academic merit, extracurricular activities, community service, and an essay submission detailing how you have overcome challenges and future goals. The Huebner Scholarship is available to high school seniors who are the children or grandchildren of soldiers who have served in the First Infantry Division of the United States Army. The Salute to Scholars Program is open to graduating seniors from Hillsborough and Pinellas County high schools and Widefield and Mesa Ridge High School in Colorado Springs. Award Amount: $500 – $2,500
The Salute to Scholars Veteran and Military Spouse Scholarship is available to students currently living in the Greater Tampa Bay Area or Colorado Springs. You must be a separated veteran with an Honorable Discharge from any branch of the Armed Forces or be a military spouse to be eligible for this award.

The Children of Veterans Scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors who are the children of US military veterans and active duty US military. To be considered, you must submit a 500 word – essay on the following topic: “What does it mean to be a child of a veteran?”

The Paralyzed Veterans of America Educational Scholarship is available to currently enrolled college students. You must be a PVA member, the spouse of a member, or an unmarried child (under 24 years of age) who is dependent on the member for principal support to be eligible for this award. Award Amount: $1,000 – $2,000
The NERA College Scholarship is available to undergraduate and graduate students. To be eligible, you must be a currently serving reserve, active, or IRR member of the United States Armed Forces; be a dependent of someone currently serving in the United States Armed Forces; or be a spouse, son, daughter, or grandchild sponsored by a current NERA member. The CDGA Foundation Veteran Scholarship is available to deceased or disabled veterans and their descendants living or hospitalized in the Chicago District. You must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 and demonstrate financial need, basic scholastic achievement, community service participation, and personal goals to be considered for this award.

The NorthAmerican.com Military Scholarship Competition is open to current and former active duty military and their dependents. You must be majoring in military logistics, supply chain management, or operational management to be eligible for this award.

The NMFA Military Spouse Scholarship is available to the spouses of members of the seven Uniformed Services, dual – service military spouses, and divorced spouses who receive 20/20/20 benefits. The Fallen Heroes Scholarship is available to the unmarried dependent children of enlisted and commissioned men and women of the U.S. Coast Guard who lost their lives in Coast Guard land, air, or sea operations. The My Career Advancement Account Scholarship for Military Spouses is available to spouses of service members on active duty in pay grades E-1 to E-5, W-1 to W-2, and O-1 to O-2. Spouses married to members of the National Guard and reserves in these same pay grades are also eligible. Additionally, you must be in pursuit or maintenance of a license, certification, or associate degree necessary to gain employment in an occupation or career field. Additional Help for Active Duty Service Members and Veterans

Active duty and veteran military service members can get more than just scholarships to help support their higher education experience. A variety of programs and organizations exist to help these men and women transition into the college classroom. College Scholarships for Military Children & Spouses

One such program is the Warrior-Scholar Program. This program works with the country’s top colleges and universities to provide one- and two-week bootcamps for veterans and service members transitioning to college campuses.

Through lectures, workshops, and one-on-one mentoring, incoming college students are taught the skills they need to thrive in the classroom and to acclimate to the college campus setting.
