How To Apply for International Research Scholarships UNSW

To apply for a scholarship, just specify on your application for admission to a program that you would want to be considered for a UNSW scholarship and choose your preferred scholarship application round. All of the aforementioned scholarships will be considered for you. Visit Submit an Application for additional information on the application process. Your scholarship application will thereafter be reviewed with all other applications received during the same round by the University.

Eligibility Criteria for International Research Scholarships UNSW

Before applying for a Higher Research Degree, you must fulfill several qualifying conditions. The following are some of them.

  • Minimum prerequisites for admission and scholarship applications can be found under Research Higher Degree Programs.
  • English language requirements: Local and foreign candidates must show that their English language proficiency fulfills the UNSW English Language Requirements. You must utilize the UNSW HDR Self-Assessment Tool to determine your eligibility, visit this link
  • All candidates, domestic and foreign, must fill-up the GTE & Financial Declaration Form and, if necessary, provide proof of their ability to cover all living expenses, fees, and other expenses. As a UNSW candidate, you must show that you can financially support yourself (and any dependents) for the duration of your studies and that you are a Genuine Temporary Entrant if you are an overseas applicant (GTE). This can be done by applying for a UNSW Research Scholarship, an alternate scholarship or sponsorship (from a non-UNSW source), or by self-funding.
  • Resources and supervision: You must decide whether you need to call a supervisor or conduct an EOI. Before you may apply, you must get permission from a possible supervisor or the school. Additional checks on suitable supervision and resources will be conducted during the evaluation process, so please keep in mind that clearance to apply does not guarantee an offer.
  • Additional criteria may apply to specific Faculties or programs; please see your Faculty’s website for further information.
