Macquarie University Centre for the Health Economy Scholarships is being offered for higher degree research.  Macquarie University is regarded as one of Australia’s most prestigious research institutions. Macquarie University and the Macquarie University Centre for the Health Economy (MUCHE) have teamed up with five pharmaceutical firms to create a one-of-a-kind HDR program in Australia. Macquarie University Research Excellence Scholarships are now available for full-time DOMESTIC (MQRES) and full-time Overseas (iMQRES) students. All four grants support a combined Master of Research and Ph.D. program in the second year. Students can, however, begin a Ph.d. degree right away provided they fulfill certain prerequisites. The Ph.D. has a three-year candidacy time, whereas a combined Master of Research and Ph.D. program has a four-year candidature term. A substantial stipend of $50,045 per year will be provided to students (2021 rate, tax-exempt). This comprises of a $28,597 p.a. basic stipend and a $21,448 p.a. top-up stipend. A tuition-fee offset scholarship will also be awarded to the candidates.

Qualified grant candidates may choose to work as Research Assistant (up to 14 hours per week). Scholars will earn $1,000 in their second year of the Master of Research and $10,000 in their Ph.D. for research-related tasks such as trips to speak at conferences, training, copy editing, and thesis drafting.
