The Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) is an entrance exam for medical school admission in the United States, Canada, Australia, and the Caribbean Islands. The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) created it, and Pearson VUE administers it. MCAT is given 25 times a year in 21 different countries.

Throughout the year, you can register for the MCAT. Depending on the location, each MCAT try costs between $315 and 360 dollars. The MCAT tests a candidate’s analytical, reasoning, psychological, and biological system knowledge.

Eligibility of MCAT: Eligibility Registration Pattern and Syllabus

  • The MCAT test is open to anybody interested in a profession in allopathic, osteopathic, podiatric, or veterinary medicine.
  • To take the exam, students from the United States and Canada must have a bachelor’s degree.
  • To take the MCAT, international students must be pursuing or have completed their MBBS.
  • Students who are taking the MCAT for reasons other than pursuing a career in medicine must obtain special clearance from the AAMC.

  • MCAT registration is required for those planning to apply to medical schools in the United States and Canada. To do the same, follow these steps:
  • Go to Students-residents.aamc.org is the official website.
  • Fill out the required information to create an AAMC account.
  • A verification email will be sent to the address provided during registration.
  • Sign in using the link provided in the verification email.
  • To schedule an exam, go to Start Exam Registration.
  • Provide the information that has been requested.

Changing the Appointment

  • This service requires an additional charge.
  • If the room is available, one may modify the test day and/or center before the deadline.
  • The MCAT Registration System can be used to check availability for the same.
  • Re-scheduling must be completed by the silver zone’s deadline.
  • If you need to reschedule the exam after the silver zone deadline, you must make a new appointment.

Cancellation and Refunds

  • Cancellation is only possible until the Gold zone deadline, after which no refunds will be given.
  • If a student is hospitalized, an emergency refund can be requested until the Silver zone deadline.

Voiding the Exam of MCAT: Eligibility Registration Pattern and Syllabus

  • Students have the option of not having their examinations graded.
  • After the exam, the student is asked whether he or she wants the MCAT scored or if he or she wants to void the particular MCAT.
  • The option to “void the MCAT” must be selected by the student.
  • If a student has to leave an exam in the middle due to illness or another unforeseen event, he or she must file a Test Center Concern with AAMC.
  • The number of MCAT exam tries is increased by a voided exam.

MCAT Score Report

  • MCAT scores are released at 5 p.m. ET on the day they are released.
  • By logging into an AAMC account, one can view the results on the MCAT Score Reporting System.

Rescoring Exams

  • If a candidate notices a difference in their MCAT score, they can report it to the MCAT Registration System.
  • Within three weeks, AAMC will respond with a good or negative response.
  • After 30 days, candidates are unable to submit their requests.

MCAT Exam Day Instructions

  • Candidates must arrive at the testing center 30 minutes before the exam. They may not be allowed to take the test after that, and no refund will be given.
  • Only examinees with valid identification will be allowed to enter the testing center; otherwise, it will be a “no show.”
  • At the test center, the student must show a valid ID. If an ID is written in English, it is legitimate.
