1. Questions 1: Do we need to acceptance letter to apply for scholarships in Taiwan?
You do not need an acceptance letter to apply for scholarships. You even do not need to contact the professor during application time.
2. Questions 2 – How do I apply for the scholarship?
Taiwan scholarships are the easiest scholarships in the world. Because not many people know about the opportunities in Taiwan, you apply for admission, and your application will be automatically considered for scholarships. No need to contact the professor for an acceptance letter.
3. Question 3 – What is the link for applying for scholarships?

4. Question 4 – How many scholarships are awarded?
There is no fixed number but based on previous statics in each session, about two thousand scholarships are awarded to international students every session (fall/ spring)—this means 4 thousand in one year, which is a notable figure.
5. Question 5 – Do I need IELTS / GRE for Taiwan universities?
Most universities do not require IELTS. However, it varies from university to university. Some require IELTS others do not require it. Explore each university website.
6. Question 6 – Is there any application fee to apply in Taiwan universities?
In the last two years, Pakistani students behaved very unprofessionally. So some universities introduced application fees like NTUST. Others do not have any applications. Every university has its admission guide, clearly mention in the application guide about this thing. For your learning, I will not mention which universities have application fees, but giving you a hint, ten universities have application fees, while 20 do not have any application fee.
7. Question 7 – Do I need to have Bank Statement to apply for admission/scholarships?
Some universities require bank statements even if you apply for scholarships. However, the good thing is it is just a formality; submit whatever bank statement you can arrange and apply accordingly. There are no strict rules for bank statements like Germany, Australia, UK.
8. Question 8 – Does HEC Pakistan recognizes Taiwan universities?
HEC Pakistan recognizes any university which is listed on UNESCO List. Simple formula, if a university is in Afghanistan and listed in UNESCO, HEC will accept its degree. Furthermore, if a university is in the USA, UK, and Germany and not listed in UNESCO, HEC will not accept its degree.

10. Question 10 – There is no embassy in Taiwan in Pakistan. How will I apply for a visa?
Taiwan universities are the world, scholarships are more than enough, fully funded, and Taiwan degrees have a very high value. Taiwan weather is just perfect. However, there is only one tricky thing in Taiwan, and that is the Visa thing. Pakistani have to get visas either from Bangkok or Saudi Arabia. However, before a visa, everyone has to attest to their documents from Hong Kong.

Taiwan, a small autonomous part of the world, has 16 universities ranked in the Top 800 by WS World Ranking. This indicated how good Taiwanese universities are in the world.
13. Questions 13 – Which type of scholarships are available in Taiwan?
Taiwanese universities offer many scholarships in both session fall and spring. There is no such system as professor scholarships in Korea, and Pakistanis are not eligible for Taiwan Government Scholarships. Pakistani are eligible for universities scholarships only. All scholarships are the same in stipend and facilities. Each university selects many students. No fixed quota.

The maximum award period for each degree are as follows:
a. Undergraduate program: 4 years
b. Master’s program: 2 years
c. Doctoral program: 4 years

16. Question 16 – How much is the stipend?
The stipend amount of scholarship is different for every university and is mentioned on every university website. You must read there.
17. Question 17 – How much living expenses are required for a month.
This is a very subjective thing. Like it depends on many things. First, your lifestyle, second, where you are living. Room rent is very minimum in universities dormitories. 18. Questions 18 what is the weather like in Taiwan?
In Taiwan, the summer temperature is around 28-35℃ with high humidity. From about mid-October, temperatures will gradually drop. January and February are typically the coldest months of the year, with temperatures around 9-15℃. Please bring some sweaters, a winter jacket and a scarf with you. Winter can also be stormy. A waterproof jacket is recommended.
19. Questions 19 – Can international students work part-time in Taiwan?
Yes, but the Taiwanese government requires all foreign nationals to obtain a work permit. It is illegal to work without a work permit. Furthermore, off-course you must know the Chinese language.
