  • Eligible Course: PhD degree in Astronomy & Cosmology, Theoretical Particle Physics, and Experimental Particle Physics.
  •  To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • Applicants must be accepted into the university and must be commencing study from September 2021.

How to Apply for PhD Studentships in Physics & Astronomy at University of Sussex in UK

  •  The students must apply to the desired PhD program online on the university website. There is no separate application for the studentship. The applicants are required to state that they wish to be considered for an STFC Research Council studentship in the Finance/Funding section to be considered.
  •  The students are required to present the following documents to the university:

  • Letter of reference
  • Proof of English language proficiency
  • Academic transcripts
  • Specific program requirements.
  •  The students must hold, or expect to hold, at least a UK upper second-class degree or non-UK equivalent qualification in Astronomy, Cosmology, Physics, or a closely-related area, or else a lower second class degree followed by a relevant Master’s degree to be accepted at the university.

The successful candidate of the PhD Studentship will be provided a tax-free bursary of £15,560, a full fee waiver, and a training/conference budget of £1250 per year for 3.5 years.
